meet lady spencer

About Twenty Eight years ago, as I sat watching television, a news bulletin flashed across the screen announcing the tragic death of Diana Spencer in a car crash in Paris. 

After absorbing the shock of that horrible broadcast, I immediately went to my keyboards and began composing an original song in her honour which I titled "Lady Spencer." The lyrics and melody came out so easily as if something guided my train of thought.

A couple of hours later, I filled in the paperwork and sent the song to be registered at SOCAN, where I've been a member since the early 1980s.

I have recorded all the music for the song for a very long time now, but not the vocals due to circumstances of budget, etc.

I have sent the sheet music to Buckingham Palace addressed to H.R.H Prince William & Prince Harry, in hopes that someone within their gauntlet of royal staff might accidentally discover the envelope and be curious enough to peek inside, but to no avail.

I also sent the sheet music, the recorded tracks and other pertinent information to Elton John's management several times with the hope that those in the superstar's orbit might stumble upon the sheet music and perhaps look at the song, but that too was to no avail.

The song Elton John sang for Diana Spencer's funeral was originally written for Marilyn Monroe, even though Elton changed the lyrics for the sad occasion.

My song covers the extraordinary, yet tragic and tumultuous life of Diana Spencer. The world watched in disbelief of the spectacular crash caused by Paparazzi. The song encompasses love, self-sacrifice, deception and betrayal.

I planning on finishing my CD titled "Lady Spencer" in 2026, one way or another to showcase this song about an extraordinary life yet tragic existence of a woman, wife and mother. Not to mention, a"Princess"

I'd like to share "Lady Spencer" with you all.
